A PERSON
WHO EATS
MEAT

a poem
by Leonard Cohen

This book utilizes multiple methods of printmaking, each building off of the previous. The initial prints are photocopies of meat in a scanner. The meat was then inked and printed using the Japanese gyotaku printing method, in which rice paper is applied to the painted meat. Finally, I transferred these prints to a linoleum block which I used to create the final set of prints.

The book features the first two collections of prints. Images on the left are scans, while images on the right are gyotaku prints. I paired the images with an excerpt from a song by Leonard Cohen, which I hand-lettered on the printed pages.
